Slimming World Sweet Chilli Chicken – Syn Free

I have to give credit to my partner for discovering this little sweet chilli chicken recipe. She’s quite a fussy eater so for her to point out a slimming world recipe that she wants to eat is actually a big thing. I think it was from a video shared by Tasty. We didn’t see the video with the steps along the way. The final picture looked amazing though.

Apart from the fact that you need to marinate the chicken strips in Chilli and Garlic for an hour, this recipe is relatively quick and simple to make. Serve with boiled or egg fried rice and you have yourself a delightful and syn free treat.

Sweet Chilli Chicken

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts cut into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp lazy garlic
  • 1 tsp lazy chilli
  • 500 ml 7up Free
  • 5 tbsp granulated sweetener substitute for 4 tbsp honey for 2.5 syns per portion
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 4 spring onion
  • half punnet sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken with the Chilli and Garlic and marinade for an hour
  2. Meanwhile, add 7up, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sweetener and tomato puree
  3. After marinading, fry the chicken with a little fry-light to brown
  4. Add the vegetables, and 7up mixture and bring to the boil, stirring
  5. Simmer for around 30-45 minutes, until well reduced
  6. Serve with noodles, boiled rice or Slimming World chips
